Dalal News respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users and contributors to do the same. We respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512, and equivalent provisions of Indian copyright law.

How to submit a takedown request

If you believe content on dalalnews.com infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to:

Required information

To be effective, your notice must include all of the following:

  1. Your full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email.
  2. A clear description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (eg the original article URL, image URL, or registration number).
  3. The exact URL(s) on dalalnews.com where the allegedly infringing material is located.
  4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  5. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on their behalf.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

Our response timeline

We will acknowledge receipt within 2 business days and complete our review within 5 business days. If we determine that the content infringes, we will remove or disable access to it and notify the user who posted it (if applicable).

Counter-notification

If you believe your content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notification to the same address. Your counter-notification must include:

  1. Your full legal name, address, telephone number, and email.
  2. Identification of the material that was removed and its previous location.
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  4. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.
  5. Your physical or electronic signature.

On receiving a valid counter-notification, we may restore the removed content unless the original claimant files a court action within 10-14 business days.

Repeat infringers

We will, in appropriate circumstances, terminate access for users or contributors who repeatedly infringe the copyrights of others.

False claims

Please note that under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing — or that material was removed by mistake — may be liable for damages.
